Tell us about your business – what do you make and sell?

Coppersmiths Rum Company was started by long time friends looking to bring something fresh and exciting to the rum market. Based in Liverpool, with operations in Staffordshire, we produce and research rum based products. Currently we are selling our signature Orange & Ginger Spiced Rum, a traditional spiced rum recipe with added fresh orange peel, root ginger and other natural and dried ingredients – a truly unique rum experience!

How did you get started?

During lockdown, an experiment to make some pretty terrible rum taste a bit better led to the inception of a great tasting product. After agreeing it was something we would be keen to explore we started to look at the possibilities of producing rum or the commercial market ourselves.

What does the GoodMarket mean to you and your business?

Goodmarket events allow us to meet our potential customers face to face, watching their reaction as they try our rum and enjoy it is a really good feeling. It also allows us to reach people who “don’t like rum” or who would never traditionally try rum – we’ve managed to make a few conversions!

Can you describe the atmosphere of a GoodMarket event?

The events are always full of passionate and dedicated small and independent businesses, they really give us a boost and make us feel like part of an exclusive community.
