Tell us about Becka Griffin Art
I’m an illustrator and I create greetings cards and prints. I’m obsessed with skylines, and have drawn skylines of over 200 different towns and cities. I am currently expanding my range of Liverpool skylines, so I’ve recently drawn Sefton Park, Speke and Penny Lane.
How did you get started?
I studied Illustration at university, but I went down a different career path (as a pub manager) after graduating. It wasn’t until I was almost 30 that I started to draw as a hobby – which quickly became a business. I started selling at in-person events, as well as online. I’ve now been a full-time illustrator for nearly ten years, and I love working for myself.
What does the GoodMarket mean to you and your business?
I hadn’t done any in-person events for a number of years but after some life changes and a return to me working from home, I started looking into local market events. I came across GoodMarket at an event in a church close to my house, and was really pleased to be accepted onto a few of their events. It’s really important for me to have face-to-face contact with both customers and fellow traders, and I am really looking forward to the upcoming GoodMarket events.
How would you describe GoodMarket events?
The best thing about GoodMarket is the curation (the traders are all high quality, and there’s a good variety of products) and the organisation. The team are always on hand to help, everything seems to have been well-considered, and everyone is really friendly and approachable. It’s a really inclusive event, and I love how sustainability is a big part of the ethos too.
What would you say to someone thinking of coming down to GoodMarket XL?
GoodMarket XL is set to be a fantastic event, with the very best traders from the local area. It’s the perfect opportunity to make a start on Christmas shopping and a great way to discover the huge range of incredible talent in the region. I’m really hoping I get chance to have a wander round myself!
